ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) today submitted the application to the returning officer (RO) to withdraw the ticket issued to Maryam Nawaz for National Assembly constituency NA-127 Lahore.
President PML-N Lahore Parvez Malik’s son and an independent candidate in NA-127 Ali Parvez Malik
has written the application to the returning officer for withdrawal of Maryam’s ticket. Ali presented himself as an alternative candidate for PML-N’s ticket.
Irfan Shafi Khokhar will contest the election in place of Maryam on PML-N’s ticket for provincial assembly
seat of PP-173 Lahore.
It must be noted that Maryam Nawaz has been charged by the accountability court with seven years in jail with regards to Aven
field reference case, and a
s per law, a c
onvict cannot run for public office.
